I own a consulting investment banking business. We have been taking companies public on the OTC Markets since the 1980s.
In 2011 we went international and take companies public all around the world - UK, Germany, Canada, Bermuda, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore.
It is a profitable business and I have hundreds of contacts and a large deal flow.
In order to buy my business in its entirety, you would have to be already involved in the Investment banking business for that to make sense.
More than likely you will need some training. I am flexible and willing to sell a part of my business and train someone and stay on part time to train them.
I am ready to retire and reducing my hours is my highest priority as there are others things I want to do.
Again I am flexible, I have no set idea how this has to work. I am open to creative suggestions. My main goal is to reduce my work hours.
I charge $75,000 cash to take someone public in the US + I get about 10% of their company. Outside the US, I charge about $150k and 10%. I am not working that hard at this anymore but in some years I have taken 15-20 companies public.
The 10% that we get in most deals is worth from another $200,000 (real bad deal) to $20 or $30 million. The average range for small deals is about $500,000 to $2,000,000 with $1,000,000 probably being the overall average. The average range for mid-sized deals is about $5,000,000 to $50,000,000 with $15,000,000 probably being the overall average.
